Springfield Police Identify Gunman, Victims of Kum & Go Shooting

The Springfield Police Department has identified the three bystanders shot and killed during the shooting at the Kum & Go Convenience store Sunday night.

The victims died when a gunman entered the store after crashing his car and began shooting at anyone inside the store. The gunman fired on two Springfield police officers who then arrived on the scene, fatally wounding Officer Christopher Walsh and injuring Officer Josiah Overton. The gunman then apparently shot himself when more Springfield police officers arrived on the scene.

The victims at the Kum & Go are:

  • Troy D. Rapp, 57, from Springfield. He was an employee of Kum & Go.
  • Shannon R. Perkins, 46, from Springfield. He was employed by WCA Waste Corporation.
  • Matthew J. Hicks-Morris, 22, from Springfield. He was a customer in the store.

A fourth victim is in critical condition at a Mercy Hospital and their identity is being withheld at the current time.

The gunman’s been identified as 31-year-old Joaquin Roman.
