Springfield Man Convicted on Multiple Drunk Driving Charges

A Springfield man has been convicted of drunk driving by a Greene County jury.

Sean Aaron Allread, 23, was found guilty Thursday on two counts of driving while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanor.

Allread was found on May 25, 2017, passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle and was discovered by a Springfield police officer. Allread refused to consent to a chemical test of his breath and a search warrant was obtained to gain a blood sample. That sample tested positive for cocaine and ecstasy, along with Xanax.

Officers observed multiple signs of impairment and Allread consented to a blood test. This sample tested positive for cocaine, ecstasy, and hydrocodone.

The jury deliberated 36 minutes before returning the guilty verdict.

Allread is facing six months in the Greene County jail and/or a fine of $1,000 for each conviction.

Sentencing before Judge Margaret Palmietto is scheduled for April 10, 2020 at 10 a.m..
