If you were hoping to see the Drury Lady Panthers attempt to pick up another win in a NCAA Regional, you’re in for disappointment.
The NCAA has made the decision that no fans will be permitted at any of the upcoming championship events because of fears related to the coronavirus. This means that no one other than staff and limited family members will be able to watch tournament games.
Anyone who had previously purchased tickets will be receiving refunds.
In a letter sent to students and staff, the Drury Coronavirus Task Force stated:
“From a fan and gameday standpoint, we are obviously extremely disappointed. But from a public health and safety standpoint, we understand why this decision was made. The health and safety of our fans, student-athletes, campus community and Springfield community are the most important consideration at this time. “
As of press time, Drury officials had not confirmed that media would be given access to the games to provide coverage of the event.
