Marshfield Youth Group Leader Charged with Rape; Other Sex Crimes

A 20-year-old man who was a youth leader in Marshfield is facing multiple sex crimes charges involving underage girls.

Benjamin Blake of Rogersville was booked into the Webster County Jail on charges of second degree rape, sexual misconduct involving a child under 15, and 4th degree child molestation.

Blake, a former youth leader within the youth group at Marshfield’s Temple Baptist Church, was 18 and 19 at the time the alleged acts took place.

Court documents claim Blake coerced a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old girl to send him nude photos, convinced the 13-year-old to have sex with him, and raped another 14-year-old girl.

If convicted on the rape charge, Blake could receive a seven year sentence for the class D felony. The other charges, class E felonies, carry a maximum four year sentence.

Blake was released on $20,000 bond Wednesday. He is represented by attorney Adam Woody. A motion hearing is scheduled before Judge Chuck Replogle on Tuesday.
