If you’re looking to live in the safest city in southwest Missouri, you’ll want to find a Nixa zip code.
The website LawnStarter.com examined FBI data from the third quarter of 2019 that showed Missouri was the 11th Most Dangerous state in the United States. Missouri was higher than the national average in all categories in the survey.
Nixa was ranked 4th in the list of safest cities in the state, the only town in the Ozarks with that honor. Ironically, while St. Louis had the highest crime rate in the state and was the Most Dangerous City, three cities next to St. Louis were ranked ahead of Nixa as safest in the state: Ballwin, Webster Groves, and O’Fallon.
The only other appearance by an Ozarks community in either Top 10 was Springfield, ranked as the second Most Dangerous City in Missouri.
Overall, the safest places to live in America were Zionsville, Indiana; Ridgefield, Connecticut; and Franklin, Massachusetts. The most dangerous? Tukwila, Washington; East Point, Georgia; Anniston, Alabama.
St. Louis ranked 9th most dangerous city in the United States, the only Missouri city in either overall Top 10.
