Nixa Art Students Win 22 Scholastic Art Awards

Nixa High School art students won 22 regional awards during the 2020 Scholastic Art Awards in Kansas City.

The awards, which was a qualifying competition for the national competition, was presented by the Kansas City Art Institute.

The winners of “Gold Key” awards quality for the national competition, with the winners announced in mid-March. The KCAI is hosting a reception to honor the Gold Key winners on March 6, 2020.

In addition to the Key awards, Ella Schober was nominated for an American Vision Medal. The judges from each region select five works from the entire region as finalists, with judges in the national competition in New York choosing each region’s medalist. They are then honored in a New York ceremony.
