A tow truck driver working on a vehicle on HIghway 65 was struck and killed north of Springfield Friday night.
Sources say that Timothy Williams, 55, was loading a vehicle onto a tow truck when he was struck by a vehicle that left the roadway.
Missouri State Highway Patrol officials say that the driver of the vehicle that struck Williams was 27-year-old Christopher Rice.
The accident took place around 9 p.m. Friday night. The Highway Patrol says the investigation continues into the incident.
Missouri State Highway Patrol says Williams is the 10th fatality from an accident this year in the Troop D service area.
