Christian County Homeless Alliance will sponsor their annual Hot Soup, Cold Nights fundraiser on Friday, February 7, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 911 W. Mt. Vernon St. in Nixa.
Each year, Christian County service providers encounter families with children who have lost their housing and need a warm, safe place to stay. Short-term motel stays allow families to connect with the homeless system of care, which provides resources to help lift them out of homelessness.
Hot Soup, Cold Nights supports these efforts. Proceeds from last year’s event were used to assist 7 families (representing 23 individuals) with short-term motel stays. This year’s fundraiser will feature a variety of soups donated by local churches, a silent auction and ceramic bowls donated by the Nixa High School Art Department. Attendees will have a chance to learn more about efforts to end homelessness in Christian County from a variety of service providers. Donations in any amount are welcome.
