If you thought that lake at the opening of Facebook’s Super Bowl ad looked familiar, you weren’t wrong.
A local facebook group, Table Rock Lake Group, was featured as part of “groups that rock” in a commercial during the Super Bowl by social media giant Facebook.
While the music of 80s hair metal legends Twisted Sister demands “I Wanna Rock,” members of the group pull up in a beat up van with a license plate that spells “rocker”, line up along the lake and skip rocks.
With the exception of the Rocky Balboa group at the end of the commercial, which features the ad’s lone celebrity cameos from comedian Chris Rock and Rocky himself, Sylvester Stallone, the Ozarks group had the longest amount of screen time of any of the groups.
The Table Rock Lake Group describes itself as “dedicated to the lake, the Ozarks, and the people who enjoy it. The lake and the Ozarks is a great place to live, visit, and explore.”
The group of about 20,000 members, started about four years ago by Frank Long, has seen a bump of over 3400 members in the last 30 days.
