Auction of Local Arts Raising Thousands for Arts Education

Art buyers across the region are snapping up some of the latest works of local artists and provided a financial boost to arts education in the Ozarks.

The Springfield Regional Arts Council announced this year’s version of their annual art auction has raised over $24,000. The artists in the auction this year cover all genres of artwork in the Ozarks, and the auction is continuing through February 7.

“With almost 100 pieces by extremely talented artists, there is something for everyone in this auction,” Leslie Forrester, Executive Director, said in a statement. “This funding is vital for arts programs that serve our community members, at no cost to them.”

The auction includes work from noted local artists Alicia Farris, Farley Lewis, and Kat Allie, along with work from members of the SRAC staff.

The auction will end at a closing reception on February 7th inside the Creamery Arts Center. The Event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. and include finger foods and complimentary beverages.

Those attending the closing event will also have one hour to outbid online bidders for items from 7 to 8 p.m..
