The Greene County Sheriff’s Office had a blitz of stolen vehicle recoveries across the county.
The first recovery took place just after 10:50 p.m. Monday night when deputies spotted a Honda Accord that was reported stolen. The deputies saw the vehicle near Kearney and Fulbright, taking the driver into custody after a short chase.
The vehicle’s passenger fled, and was found about a block away after being tracked by K9 Stark and his partner Deputy Kendrick.
The second recovery took place after a pursuit around 5:24 a.m. Tuesday morning. A Pontiac Vibe was reported to be stolen and deputies found it near Farm Road 156 and State Highway FF. The vehicle fled after an attempted stop by deputies, breaking down during their flight, ending at the intersection of Kansas Expressway and James River Expressway. The driver was taken into custody.
Around 7:05 a.m., the deputies engaged in a third pursuit of a stolen vehicle. A stolen Nissan Maxima was spotted near Eldon and Chestnut Expressway. The pursuit ended when the vehicle was driven off-road at Kearney and Interstate 44. The suspect fled into a wooded area, but was captured by deputies after a foot pursuit.
There were no accidents or injuries in all the incidents.
