A Springfield woman convicted in the shooting murder of Joshua Brooks will be spending decades behind bars.
Christina Duckett, 34, was sentenced to 30 years in prison by Judge Ron Carrier.
Duckett was found guilty by a jury in November for the September 2018 murder of Brooks. The jury found Duckett had shot Brooks three times in the head while he was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car, which was parked at the end of a dead end street.
The duo had been on a date to a movie after meeting on an internet dating site.
The 30 year sentence was the maximum for the second degree murder conviction.
Duckett has maintained her innocence and her lawyer claims she will be appealing the verdict.
