Police have confirmed that the person who died in a one-vehicle crash on Saturday night in Ozark was the son of a beloved Branson entertainer.
Austin Sanders, 30, died when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel and his car drove off Highway 65.
His father, Branson entertainer Terry Sanders, posted a statement from the family on his Facebook page:
“Dede Edwards Sanders & I, with grief-stricken hearts & pain beyond all measure, lost our oldest son, Austin Sanders last night (Sat., Jan. 11th, 2020) in a 1-car accident,” Sanders posted. “It was about 9:55 PM while Austin was driving home south on Hwy. 65 from Springfield, MO. He fell asleep, drifted off of the hwy., the vehicle flipped, & Austin Sanders was killed instantly. We truly appreciate your prayers, love, & condolences…Our hearts are broken.”
Sanders later posted that a celebration of life for Austin will be held on Saturday, January 18th, at the Americana Theatre in Branson starting at 2 p.m..
