The annual St. Louis Cardinals Caravan announced a stop in Springfield on Friday, January 17.
The Caravan will visit in the indoor training facility for the Springfield Cardinals starting at 12:30 p.m. with doors opening at noon.
The event will feature current St. Louis Cardinals and former Springfield Cardinals. Scheduled to appear are: pitcher Jordan Hicks, outfielder Lane Thomas and pitcher Junior Fernandez, as well as current St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Giovanny Gallegos. Former St. Louis Cardinals Tom Pagnozzi and Al Hrabosky are also scheduled to attend the event.
Ricky Horton of FOX Sports Midwest will be the scheduled emcee.
In addition to the appearances by the Cardinals, there will be a “Garage Sale” featuring Cardinals collectibles.
A “ticket system” will be put in place for autographs. The first 400 kids 15 years old and under will get a ticket that will guarantee an autograph from each current and former player.
No one over 16 years of age will be allowed to get autographs from the players at the noon event.
The players from the Caravan will spend the afternoon visiting kids at Cox South and Mercy hospitals.
That night, the players will be at the Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions to sign autographs. A ticket to the ToC will be required to attend the evening autograph session, scheduled to take place between 7:15 and 8:15 p.m..
