One of the original stars of MTV’s “Girl Code” is in Springfield this weekend, bringing her standup comedy to the Blue Room Comedy Club.
Jessimae Peluso was a stand-up comic for 12 years before making her debut on MTV’s “Girl Code” in 2013. She stayed on the show for two seasons, leaving before the third season premiere.
In addition to MTV, Peluso has made a number of television appearances on Comedy Central, VH1, NBC, Fox, TruTV, and AXS. She has also been a supporter of our troops by participating in a USO Holiday Tour and performing for our soldiers were unable to get home to their families at the holidays.
Peluso, described by MTV as a “proudly lewd comedienne”, is the host of the Sharp Tongue podcast. The podcast features different guests each week and covers a variety of topics from comedy to sex and even serious issues like dealing with loss. She’s also known for an unhealthy crush on Full House star John Stamos.
Peluso is an advocate for Alzheimer’s research and a huge supporter of people facing the disease and their family members, as someone who has faced the disease in her family. She hosts “Weedsday” every Wednesday on Facebook liver to help raise awareness.
Peluso will be performing one show Friday December 13 at 7:30 p.m. and two shows Saturday December 14 at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m.. Tickets are available through the Blue Room website. If the shows do not sell out in advance, tickets will be available at the door for $10 more than presale prices. Justin Smith will also be performing.
