A group of ten students at Nixa High School know their Constitution better than almost anyone else in the state.
The team of Nixa Eagles finished second in the Missouri Bar’s Show Me Constitution Competition held in Columbia.
The students had to write and deliver four-minute written statements followed by a 10-minute question and answer session about the 4th Amendment’s protections on search and seizure.
Students also gave talks on the future of the Electoral College, and problems and future of the Separation of Power and Checks & Balances.
The Nixa team was praised by judges for “passion for the issues” along with their outstanding research and understanding of the Constitution and its promised liberties.
The ten students that made up the state runner-up team are: Sloane Lawson, Edward Eiche, Eshan Jain, Amarra Fusco, Kaleb Creason, Amanda Eckels, Dallin Attwooll, Brady Vaughan, Susan Hardy and Emma Beadle.
