Emergency Need for O Negative Blood

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks has released an emergency request for donors with type O Negative blood.

The CBCO says they currently have less than a one day supply of blood on hand for type O Negative, when they try to have at least a three day supply for all their partner hospitals.

Type O Negative is the most heavily used blood type because it’s the “universal donor”, meaning it can be used for virtually all people in need of blood regardless of the recipients normal blood type.

Visit the CBCO website to schedule a donation time or to find a donation center.
