Springfield community sexual assault awareness organization Me Too Springfield is holding a special Community Holiday Dinner on Monday night, December 9.
The free dinner is being held at the Relics Event Center, 2015 West Battlefield Road in Springfield, from 6 to 8 p.m..
“This Community Holiday Dinner is for everyone,” Me Too President Jordan Harris said in a statement. “Those who dread going home, who can’t afford to make a meal themselves, or those who just want to eat a holiday meal with the family they have chosen without hiding any part of themselves. I hope this event can make this time of year a little more merry for everyone who needs it.”
The dinner will feature ham, turkey, tamales, and ten “traditional holiday sides.”
In addition to the food, there will be craft activities and there will be an opportunity for family or group photos. The Springfield Street Choir will be performing during the dinner.
