Cyclists Brave Cold and Wind to Help Toys for Tots

The biting cold and dangerously strong winds weren’t enough to stop a group of motorcyclists from across the Ozarks from banding together to raise toys for children in need this holiday season.

The 39th Annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride took place Sunday afternoon. The cyclists rode from Corwin Ford to the Oasis Inn and Convention Center where a truck was loaded with toys.

The event was sponsored by the Springfield Marine Corps Reserve.

The toys filled the back of a truck from Prime Trucking, which transported the toys to a local warehouse for storage before distribution closer to Christmas.

An “after party” was hosted for the cyclists by the American Legion Post 639 as a thank you for their donations to the kids.
