A program that provides gifts and surprises to Branson area seniors who would otherwise have a bleak Christmas season is renewing on Monday.
Adopt-A-Senior, a program of the Branson Parks and Recreation Department in a partnership with Senior Age Area on Aging, began three years ago when a group of individuals sought to fill what they saw as a need in the community.
Area seniors provide “wish lists” to care facilities, the Branson Community Center, or through the Senior Age home meal delivery program.
The Branson Community Center then distributes lists to area residents who are interested in helping ensure a local senior has a merry Christmas. Lists will be available starting Monday morning at the Branson Community Center and the Branson RecPlex.
Lists can also be obtained by emailing Traci Burrow with the Community Center.
