Dmitriy Andreychenko, the man who caused an incident by carrying a large gun into a Springfield area Walmart in what he termed an “experiment”, will be meeting with the victims of his incident as part of his court plea.
Missouri State University’s Center for Dispute Resolution will be hosting the discussion between the gunman and those impacted by his actions. Mediators will facilitate the discussion for Andreychenko to understand how his actions have had long lasting impact on the people who encountered him that day.
Andreychenko pleaded guilty to a charge of filing a false report, and part of the plea deal was his participating in a victim offender dialogue.
The conversations are likely to take place in January 2020.
