Branson Aldermen Vote Down Buried Utilities on 76 Country Boulevard

The power lines will stay visible.

Branson leaders voted against a proposal that would bury utility lines along a half-mile section of 76 Country Boulevard as part of the 76 Improvement Project.

Proponents of the burial of the utilities say the city is obligated to finish the project, but with the city facing over $150 million in debt, others are saying the project should be delayed because it’s not a vital need.

Four yes votes were required to pass the measure, but only three were obtained.
