A Springfield area insurance agent is facing a series of child sex assault charges.
Richard Mark was charged with a list of felonies connected to child sexual abuse. Mark is facing 11 counts of Statutory Sodomy on a person less than 12 years old; a count of statutory rape on a person less than 12 years old; 3 counts of 2nd degree child molestation on a child less than 12 years old; 2 counts of 1st degree child molestation; and other related charges.
Court documents say that four victims are involved, all under the age of 15, the youngest being 7-years-old. The alleged incidents happened at Mark’s home in Republic and at his Farmer’s Insurance office on West Republic Road in Springfield.
Mark is in the Greene County Jail on $500,000 bond and is represented by attorney Dee Wampler. According to CaseNet, Mark pleaded not guilty during a Thursday court hearing.
If convicted on all charges, Mark could face life in prison.
