A man accused of robbing a Greene County assistant prosecutor has been found guilty by a Greene County jury.
Robert Lee Young was convicted of robbery in the first degree and armed criminal action.
In 2018, Young entered an elevator at Cox North Medical Tower and told the assistant prosecutor they were robbing them. The victim surrendered her wedding ring and $50.
Police caught Young with a knife and the wedding ring a short time after the elevator incident.
The case was prosecuted by the state of Missouri due to the Greene County Prosecutor’s office’s connection to the victim.
Young will be sentenced on January 9, 2020 and could face life in prison on the robbery charge.
