Nixa Public Schools announced the “Teacher of the Year” for each one of their schools.
Each schools has a unique selection process to determine the “Teacher of the Year” for their school. Those teachers then continue into a competition to be named the district’s “Teacher of the Year.”
The individual school “Teachers of the Year” are:
- Nixa High School: Janet Young
- SCORE: David Mitchell
- Nixa Junior High: Pedro Benitez
- Inman: Melissa Boozer
- Summit: Emily Kellis
- JTSD: Tara Tinlin
- Century: Susan Coffman
- Espy: Carrie Stehno
- High Pointe: Kristy Richart
- Mathews: Rebecca Mason
- Early Childhood: Dr. Jennifer Williams
The district’s “Teacher of the Year” will be narrowed to four finalists in the second semester of this school year and the winner announced in May at the Nixa Education Foundation Gala. They will be eligible to be considered for Missouri’s teacher of the year.
