A Springfield based charity has announced they have received blue-ribbon national accreditation.
Catholic Charities of Southwest Missouri (CCSOMO) received the national accreditation through the New York-based Council on Accreditation (COA).
The COA examined the programs, services, management, and administration of CCSOMO over a 36 month process. The evaluation determines if the operations of the organization meet best practices in the field of human services. The programs are viewed through the lens of whether they are ” well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supported workforce.”
COA’s Accreditation Commission voted unanimously that CCSOMO had met all criteria for accreditation.
COA’s accreditation is the only independent accrediting body recognized by the U.S. State Department under the Hague Convention for Intercountry Adoption.
CCSOMO’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Consumer Credit Counseling Services of the Ozarks, gained re-accreditation.
