Greene County Commissioners have honored a juvenile officer with the county’s Top Branch award for work above and beyond her assigned tasks.
Sydney Young was cited for her work as a Deputy Juvenile Officer in the Delinquency Intake Unit.
The nomination of Young mentioned her “strong passion for helping youth” and noted she goes “above and beyond what is expected of her.” Young has provided assistance on interviews, conferences and after-hours transport of youth who are not on her caseload.
Young was also praised for her work in GEMs, a program for at-risk female youth, and has helped coordinate large donations to the Juvenile Office.
Young also created a training binder for new employees and has shown a determination to assist youth and families going through the juvenile system of Greene County.
