Comedian Josh Blue is bringing more than just jokes to the Blue Room Comedy Club in Springfield this weekend.
Blue has cerebral palsy, and uses his comedic talents to help make the public aware of cerebral palsy through laughter.
Blue became nationally known when in 2006 he appeared on the NBC show Last Comic Standing. Blue said at the time his goal was to “make people aware of the fact that people with disabilities can make an impact.” It was on the show he coined the term “palsy punch” in a bit when he said it was effective to win a fight because “they don’t know where the punch is coming from, and second of all, neither do I.”
Josh has toured the world with his comedy, including performances for the troops as part of Ron White’s Comedy Salute to the Troops. He’s appeared on the Tonight Show, Mind of Mencia, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Late Show, and multiple podcasts like WTF with Marc Maron.
Blue has multiple one hour comedy specials that have been broadcast on Showtime, NetFlix and other outlets. His latest, Delete, is on Hulu and Amazon.
Josh has also represented the USA as a part of the US Paralympic Soccer Team at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece.
