The weather forecast for Halloween is calling for freezing temperatures and possibly rain or snow, one day ahead of when local cold weather shelters being prepared to open for the homeless and other residents who will be facing problems with the cold temperatures.
So one local church is changing their Halloween plans to provide a safe, warm location for those in need.
The Connecting Grounds announced they were cancelling their planned Trunk or Treat event and will instead host an all-night movie marathon. The church located at National and Commercial will host a series of comedies and movie classics for anyone who wants to hang out. The first movie begins at 4 p.m..
Connecting Grounds gave their candy and extra hot dogs to Turning Point Church, located across the street from Connecting Grounds, for their Trunk or Treat event for community families who had planned to bring their kids to Connecting Grounds for candy.
