A recent spike in the number of overdoses in the Springfield/Greene County area have recovery advocates and experts coming together for an emergency conference on Tuesday, October 29.
The Emergency S.O.S. (Springfield Overdose Summit) will take place at The Well, 420 West College Street in Springfield, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The event is free to the public.
Among the panels and events scheduled for the day is a 2 p.m. session on the use of Narcan to help overdose victims and training for those would like to be able to help someone in an overdose situation.
Attendees can come for one or all events.

3:00 p.m. Harm Reduction 101
Narcan kits have been made available to the community through the Springfield Recovery Community Center.
