Missouri State’s 2019-20 men’s basketball television commitments have been finalized, and the Bears will be featured on numerous national and regional telecasts this coming season with additional games covered on local television.
Nationally, the Bears will appear on CBS Sports Network no fewer than twice with home games against Valparaiso (Jan. 23) and Loyola (Feb. 22) featured on the national platform. In addition, the final weekend of the season – traditionally dubbed the MVC Wildcard Weekend – features select telecasts on CBS Sports Network and ESPN2.
Missouri State will appear on ESPN’s networks several times, starting with the Charleston Classic, Nov. 21, 22 and 24. The Bears’ first game of the event vs. Miami (Fla.) will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU, while MSU’s other two games will air on either ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3 digital.
During the conference season, Missouri State will be part of the Valley’s “Net Flex” process twice with games announced as ESPNU or ESPN3 events about two weeks prior. Missouri State games under consideration as national Net Flex games are the Jan. 26 game at Drake and the Feb. 16 game at Indiana State.
The Missouri Valley Television Network – which features FOX Sports Midwest, NBC Sports Chicago and other FOX Sports regional television networks – will air five Missouri State games. The non-conference matchup at Xavier on Nov. 15 will be picked up on the network before league games at Loyola (Jan. 4), vs. Northern Iowa (Jan. 11), at Northern Iowa (Jan. 29) and at Bradley (Feb. 19).
In addition, eight Bears games will air locally on KOZL-TV, including non-conference matchups with Alabama State (Nov. 10), Cleveland State (Nov. 12), Mississippi Valley State (Dec. 6), Arkansas State (Dec. 11), and at Oral Roberts (Dec. 21), before three slated conference games at Illinois State (Jan. 7), Drake (Feb. 12), and at Valparaiso (Feb. 25).
With the exception of road games at LSU (Nov. 29) and VCU (Dec. 15), the remainder of the Bears’ schedule will be part of The Valley on ESPN digital broadcast schedule, featuring ESPN+ and ESPN3 telecasts, available exclusively on the ESPN app and available on all mobile and online devices.
The 2020 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament in St. Louis (March 5-8) will include games on FOX Sports Midwest (first round and quarterfinals), CBS Sports Network (semifinals) and CBS (championship).
