Branson Receives Clean Audit

by Melody Pettit

The City of Branson has achieved a clean financial audit rating for the 7th consecutive year for Fiscal Year 2018. The independent auditing firm of Allen, Gibbs, & Houlik, L.C. was engaged to audit the City’s financial statements and presented findings at the June 25, 2019 Board of Aldermen meeting.

A clean financial audit indicates the auditor’s belief that the city’s financial statements are free of misrepresentations and material misstatements.

The city is required to obtain an annual audit by an independent agency annually. The audit fulfills the City’s responsibility to report complete and accurate financial data. For Fiscal Year 2018, The City has an internal control framework designed to protect the City’s assets from loss, theft or misuse and provides reasonable assurance that the City’s financial statements are free of material misstatements through accurate accounting data.

The entire audit report can be found in the 2018 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) on the City’s website at You can find more Budget and Financial reports on our website, at
