Evangel Hosting Campus Car Show & Cruise

Evangel University is going to rev up part of their homecoming festivities this Saturday.

The 2nd Annual Evangel University Car Show & Cruise will take place this Saturday, October 5, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on the EU campus.

“The intent of the car show is to raise scholarship funds to help students at Evangel experience a first-class education,” Hector Cruz, director of alumni engagement, said in a statement. “We are excited to connect alumni from near and far with our local community in this fun and unique way.”

Registration for the show is open to any “interesting car, truck, or motorcycle” including everything from muscle cars to “barn finds.” Registration is 30 dollars and includes coffee & pastries, t-shirt, a goodie bag, and two tickets to Evangel’s homecoming football game.

The “cruise” portion of the event will start at 11:30 a.m. and travel through parts of east Springfield and rural areas along old Route 66 then south to Ozark.

“Many of our alumni have fond memories as students of cruising Kearney, the Steak ’n Shake car shows, and taking dates for a drive to Fellows Lake,” Evangel Director of PR Paul Logsdon said in a statement. “This is one more way to revive those good memories.”

Evangel’s football game will kick off at 1 p.m. at Ozark High School’s Tiger Stadium.
