Panther Run to Benefit Care to Learn

Saturday over 1,000 runners will dash around the area of the Drury University campus to benefit local charity Care to Learn.

The Panther Run actually consists of three runs: a 5K, a 10K, and a 15K. The courses for the runs begin and end on the Drury University campus near the O’Reilly Family Event Center. In addition to the runs, there will be a 5K Teacher Appreciation Walk that will be an untimed event.

Participants will be competing for a share of over $20,000 in prizes from Bass Pro Shops and other vendors. All participants receive a commemorative medal and shirt after the conclusion of the races.

The event benefits Care to Learn, a local charity founded by Doug Pitt that provides funding to schools for items in the areas of health, hunger, and hygiene. The organization currently has 35 chapters throughout Missouri.

“When a student’s needs go unmet, their education becomes an afterthought to survival,” Doug Pitt said in a statement.

Registration for the event is still available on the event’s website.
