osh Dolling provided some late-game heroics with his goal in the 89th minute to extend Missouri State men’s soccer unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win over Central Arkansas Tuesday night at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.
Dolling recorded his third straight game-winning goal for the Bears (3-0-0) in spectacular fashion. After a pivotal MSU throw in, Aadne Bruseth flicked a pass towards Dolling who found the net to secure the game’s only goal in MSU’s third straight shutout win.
MSU controlled the tempo throughout most of the first half, outshooting UCA 8-1. Back-to-back corner kicks allowed scoring chances for the MSU Bears in the 12th minute as Ben Stroud and Josh Dolling fired shots towards goal, but the UCA goalkeeper Marc Olsen was there to haul in the saves.
The MSU Bears’ defense shined throughout, holding UCA to three total shots and recording a third straight shutout to keep their unblemished record intact.
“That’s a game where we played well and dictated the game for long stretches”, says associate head coach Michael Seabolt. “We set out to accomplish our game plan and came away with a win.”
MSU dominated the shot column with a 15-3 advantage as the Bears have tallied double-digit shot totals in all three of their matches this season.
