Man Fleeing Branson Police Drowns in Pond

A man attempting to flee Branson police ended up drowning in a pond.

A statement from Branson police say they received a call around 1 a.m. on Sunday, September 8th, about someone who had been prowling around cars parked near Wyndham Branson at the Meadows.

During the police search, they heard what was called a “commotion” in a nearby pond. Police arrived at the pond and found a body which was recovered by the Western Taney County Fire Protection District’s firefighters.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
