The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary is offering a new degree that will allow students to get a degree in bilingual ministry.
Evangel officials announced the Bilingual Spanish Master of Leadership and Ministry Degree because of a “growing constituency of Hispanic ministry leaders within the Assemblies of God fellowship.”
The school said in a statement that 23 percent of Assemblies of God members worldwide are Hispanic.
“AGTS has a solid history of developing church leaders for the 21st century.” Dr. Tim Hager, dean of AGTS, said in a statement. “Equipping the next generation of Hispanic leaders for powerful and effective ministry is a strategic initiative inspired by the Holy Spirit.”
The program will be available to students online. AG-credential holders are eligible for scholarships.
“AGTS is offering a pathway for a successful ministerial and vocational career,” Rev. Fernando Tamara, director and research assistant of The Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership, said in a statement.
“Why is it successful? Because AGTS desires to train Hispanic leaders for the future of our beloved Assemblies of God. It has become a benchmark for Christian higher education.”
