Springfield’s August sales tax revenue from the Missouri Department of Revenue were down almost four percent compared to August 2018.
The check for the city was $2,960,512, just over $124,500 less than the previous year. The check reflects sales from June processed by the state in July.
The fiscal year-to-date has revenue down about 2.5% but over the last 12 months the revenue was up 1.5%. Compared to the budget, revenue is up 5% on a monthly basis and 1.74% on a year-to-date.
Approximately 56 percent of revenue for the city comes from sales and use tax.
