Boys & Girls Clubs Announce New Partnership with Springfield Public Schools

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield has announced a new partnership with Springfield Public Schools to provide programs at Fremont Elementary.

The before and after school program at the school will initially serve 140 students ages 6-12. Nationally approved programs such as Positive Action, Power Hour, Project Learn, mental health programs, and others. The programs promote “education in cooperation” with teachers and parents.

A “Torch Service Club” run by staffers from Boys and Girls Club will help students connect with community service organizations. The goal is to teach students the importance and fulfillment that comes from community service.

Springfield Public Schools will provide program participants with a snack daily including milk, fruit, and vegetables.

The partnership is being celebrated Friday, August 16, with an Opening Celebration for the Fremont Unit. The community is invited to attend.
