The Greene County Commission at their Tuesday meeting agreed to accept conditions and the estimated cost of the audit from State Auditor Nicole Galloway.
The letter from Randall Gordon, state director of audits, informed commission of an estimated $150,000 to $200,000 cost for the audit. The letter stated that if the cost was going to exceed that $200,000 cap, “reasonable notice to the county” will be provided to the commissioners.
The letter states the objectives of the audit are to evaluate internal controls over significant management and financial functions, compliance with certain legal provisions, and the economy and efficiency of certain management practices and procedures.
