Burning Fuel Truck Closes U.S. 60

A tractor-trailer driver is hospitalized after an accident on U.S. 60 between Springfield and Rogersville that left his truck on fire.

The driver reportedly became distracted and ended up driving into the median. The truck then burst into flame. The trailer contained approximately 2000 gallons of diesel fuel and 6000 gallons of gas.

The driver suffered burns from the crash.

Environmental groups are on the scene to help contain any further leaks.

The accident closed U.S. 60 for a short time and individual lanes for a longer period.
