Drury University Vice President & Director of Athletics Corey Bray announced Anna Goodell as the department’s next Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance.
Goodell comes to Drury from the Mountain West Conference where she served as the assistant director for administration. She started with the 12-member, NCAA-I league in August of 2017 working as an intern in the compliance department, and when she moved into her current role, Goodell continued to work directly with the compliance office in addition to the league’s finance staff. She also had responsibilities with the conference’s game officials and assisted with the Mountain West’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
“I am very excited to have Anna join the Panthers family,” said Bray. “Her compliance experience at both the institution and conference level will serve her well in this role. I am confident that she will carry on the great compliance work previously performed by Bryan Beatty while using her experience and new perspectives to take our compliance operations to new heights.”
Earlier this summer, Beatty moved from his position of Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance & Eligibility, to become the Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs and will oversee the department’s finances, facilities, concessions, as well as a variety of other duties. Beatty had been in his previous role for 11 years as well as serving as an assistant coach for Drury’s swimming & diving program for 10 seasons.
In addition to working for the Mountain West Conference, Goodell also served as a volunteer assistant in the compliance office at the Air Force Academy and was a student-manager for two seasons with the baseball team at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS). During her time in Colorado, she was also a USA Shooting program administrator for two years responsible for coordinating host sites, instructors, and event expenses.
A native of Houston, Texas, Goodell graduated from UCCS in December 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. She will begin her tenure at Drury on August 5th.
