Greene County Deputies potentially saved the life of a two-year-old child left inside a sweltering car Sunday night.
Deputies responded to a call from the Flying J Truck Stop on West Chestnut Expressway Sunday night reporting a child inside a car that wasn’t running. When they arrived, they confirmed the report and were able to access the vehicle to free the child.
Deputies reported the child was “sweating profusely” because of the temperature inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle found drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The mother of the child was found inside the store and taken into custody.
She has been booked into the Greene County Jail for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, possession on a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The child is in the care of Children’s Division.
