City Utilities Holding Public Input Meetings on New General Manager

City Utilities has announced two opportunities for the public to speak out about the process of hiring a new general manager.

The utility is looking for a replacement for Scott Miller, who announced his December retirement earlier this year. The meetings are “to gain insight from the public on what attributes, skills and qualifications” customers want to see in the utility’s next leader.

“These informal input meetings will provide the public, our customers, the opportunity to visit with several members of the Board of Public Utilities, and CU staff, as we move forward with the search process.” Joe Reynolds, Chair of Board of Public Utilities, said in a statement. “Additionally, a survey will be available to be filled out electronically at the meetings and will also be available on the CU website at www.cityutilities.net.”

The meetings will be held:

Monday, July 22, 5-7 p.m. at Springfield Fire Station 8’s Community Room, 1405 South Scenic

Thursday August 8, 5-7 p.m. at Schwietzer Brentwood Branch Community Room, 2214 S. Brentwood

The Executive Committee of the CU Board and CU’s Human Resources department are conducting a local and national search for the new general manager.
