Health Issue Forces Leadership Change at Salvation Army

The local branch of the Salvation Army will have new leadership as health problems are forcing the departure of their current head.

Major Butch Frost has been battling cancer and is unable to continue leading the Springfield, MO offices. He and his wife Lisa will be transferring to a location in Kansas City where he can continue his treatment and battle against the disease with immediately family in the area to support him.

Frost’s last official day with the Springfield Salvation Army Corps was Sunday, July 14th. The family is currently making the preparations to move to the Kansas City area.

Majors Robert and Vicki Buttrey, who retired in the Springfield area, will be coming back to serve as interim leadership until a permanent head of operations is named. The organization hopes to have someone in the position permanently by August 31st.
