Missouri State Volleyball Coach Placed on Administrative Leave

Missouri State announced today that head volleyball coach Melissa Stokes has been placed on immediate administrative leave.

The school said in a statement the action was “pending an investigation into allegations involving the program.”

“We have an obligation to take seriously any concerns raised regarding our programs,” said Director of Athletics Kyle Moats.

The school did not detail any of the allegations that have allegedly been made against the program or Stokes.

Associate head coach Manolo Concepcion will take over day-to-day duties until the end of the investigation. Moats said the investigation will begin immediately and there has been no timeline for completion. The firm of Spencer Fane LLP has been hired by the University for the investigation.

The volleyball team is scheduled open their season roughly six weeks with the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational.

Stokes was beginning her 24th season with the team, one win shy of 300 Missouri Valley Conference victories.
