Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller is reminding residents of the Walnut Grove today is the last day to register to vote in the August election considering a school tax issue.
The ballot measure will raise the tax levy for the district from $4.053 to $5.123 per $100 of assessed value. The district says the funds from the raise would be used for “implementation of safety and security measures district-wide; the site development, construction, renovation, equipping and furnishing of new elementary school classrooms and administration offices; the development of a new drop-off/pick-up lane; the replacement of mechanical systems; and the completion of other remodeling and repair improvements to existing facilities.”
If you want to register to vote in the election, you need to visit a Greene County Clerk’s office before 5 p.m. today. The office is located inside the Greene County Archives/Election Center.
Any registered voter who needs to vote via absentee ballot can do so at the Archives/Election Center through August 5th.
