Branson Motel Shut Down For Bed Bugs and Roaches

An extended stay motel in Branson has been closed by the Taney County Health Department because of infestations of bed bugs and roaches.

A tenant had complained to the Health Department about the Branson Plaza Motel, saying that conditions in the facility risked the health of anyone living there.

The residents in the building were given 24 hours to try and find another place to live. Health Department officials said they were working to help those being displaced by the closure find new housing.

Relocation is being complicated by the fact it’s high tourism season in Branson and most of the extended stay motels are completely rented for weeks with out-of-state visitors.

The motel owners are reportedly working with the Health Department to fix the issue with the infestation.
