The Springfield City Council is holding a rare special meeting session today in the Councilman Denny Whayne Conference Room at the Busch Municipal Building.
The meeting is being held to give a second reading and vote to an ordinance that will change the pay rates, job titles and other items connected to recent agreements with police and fire.
There was an amendment to the measure, Council Bill 2018-134, so the measure had to be held open for another period of public comment on the amendment before Council could vote on the measure.
If anyone wishes to speak to the amendment of the bill (the public hearing on the actual bill itself is closed), you need to appear in the 4th floor conference room of the Busch Municipal Building before 11:30 a.m. today.
The measure is expected to unanimously pass after the public hearing.
After the special meeting, a closed session will be held by Council, followed by the regularly scheduled weekly council lunch where they will discuss the governance of the airport.
