The Tumbler sculpture on Park Center Square will be given it’s “summertime tumble” on Friday in honor of a Springfield businessman who passed away unexpectedly in 2016.
The #TumbleForSGF event is being hosted by The Coffee Ethic in honor of its late founder, Tom Billionis, who not only ran his coffee house but also helped many other downtown businesses get off the ground.
The Coffee Ethic is giving all revenue from their sales on Friday to Empowering Youth at Great Circle. The organization provides shelter and after-care services for homeless or unsafely housed youth and teens.
This is the third year the Coffee Ethic has sponsored the event.
“We consider this the day we give back to the community we love,” said The Coffee Ethic owner Michelle Billionis.
The “tumble” will take place at 5:30 p.m. with live music from local artist Justin Larkin on the Coffee Ethic’s patio next to the square starting at 5 p.m..
